| Welcome to the March/April 2008 edition of the Ridgdill Family Newsletter. I hope everyone enjoys reading the newsletter, but I have no way of knowing unless you tell me. I've had four to tell me they enjoy it. Maybe they're the only four reading it. Oh well, at least I've had no complaints. I continue to ask for your ideas, stories, photographs, etc. I send my thanks to the few who have responded. Again, we can include such things as births/birthdays, engagement/wedding announcements, family reunions, vacations, awards, graduations, deaths/obituaries (Heaven forbid), or anything else of interest; whatever you'd like to see. This is OUR newsletter. Please remember this is a bi-monthly newsletter. So, please get your information to me in time to be included in the next edition. As always, your feedback and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. |

Easter Sunday 2008 will fall on March 23rd. If you live in the Southeast, take a look at the loblolly pinetrees during the weeks leading up to, and following, Easter Sunday. You will witness yet another phenomenon of nature. You see, the loblolly pines know when it's time for Easter. Each Spring around Easter time, depending on the weather, the tiny little yellow blooms of the loblolly pine will begin to sprout. Then, be amazed as they branch off and form crosses. No one knows why this occurs. My guess is that it's just another testament of God's amazing grace, and a subtle reminder of why we celebrate Easter each year. |
Spring is just around the corner. Now is the time to clean out last years nests from your blue bird houses. Birds will not use last year's nests, although if you for- get to remove the old nest, the blue birds will build a new nest on top of the old. If you don't have blue bird houses, you don't know what you're missing. They are beautiful to watch. I took these photos last spring from about fifteen feet away. |

| Church Feud There was a feud between the pastor and the choir director of the church. It seems the first hint of trouble came when the pastor preached on "Dedicat- ing Yourselves to Service," and the choir director chose to sing: "I Shall Not Be Moved." Trying to believe it was a coincidence, the pastor put the incident behind him. The next Sunday he preached on "Giving." Afterwards, the choir squirmed as the director led them in the hymn: "Jesus Paid It All." By this time, the pastor was losing his temper. Sunday morning attendance swelled as the tension between the two built. |
| A large crowd showed up the next week to hear his sermon on "The Sin of Gossiping." Would you believe the choir director selected the song: "I Love To Tell The Story?" There was no turning back. The following Sunday the pastor told the congregation that unless something changed, he was considering resignation. The entire church gasped when the choir director led them in: "Why Not Tonight?" Truthfully, no one was surprised when the pastor resigned a week later, explaining that Jesus had led him there, and Jesus was leading him away. The choir director could not resist: "What A Friend We Have In Jesus!" Submitted by: Stephanie Ridgdill Lane |
